We have used Power BI internally to help streamline our operations and also to create management dashboards to help monitor and steer performance. Experiencing how powerful the Power BI application is and foreseeing all the possibilities for its integration into businesses we knew this was a technology we wanted to be at the forefront of.
Our goal is to be the go-to provider for Power BI training. We see this application as being a key tool in the workplace and a real need for employees to upskill and learn how to use it and best apply it to their various roles. So, we set about designing a Power BI Beginner level course and designing an accompanying manual.
As experienced trainers, we know it’s best to work with clean simple data which students can quickly get their heads around. We gathered this data and built a variety of realistic scenarios and reports around it. We show students how to use the visualisation tools in Power BI to create a variety of performance and management reports:
- Are your Sales Team meeting targets?
- What are your top performing products?
- Can I see Sales scaled by volume on a geographical map?
These reports are used to create meaningful and insightful dashboards and are easily shared with colleagues.
The cloud based nature of Power BI and its ease of connectivity to other services is what makes it stand apart from other visualisation tools. The course demonstrates the ease of connectivity and delves into the Mobile App and its usefulness. Having the ability to check KPI’s on your mobile while out of the office is a real game changer for many managers. The information really is at your fingertips!
We spent a great deal of time designing the course to ensure we were delivering material that could be applied as soon as the students returned to their workplace. It’s a beginner level course but is substantial and delivers a great deal of meaningful and useful content. To further bolster the learning, we created a copyrighted manual with step by step exercises, screen shots and instructions.
We are truly proud of the effort the team put into producing this course. If you would like to learn more you can check out our course content.
